post-surgery experiment

Hello all, reporting from June. Just finished a surgery to remove a pretty big cyst. Thankfully, it was keyhole and could remain so. I am about 5-6 days post-op now, and the pain is a lot better.

So far, I've been spending copious amounts of time on the usual suspects - IG, XiaoHongShu, YouTube. I guess it was nice to indulge a bit, but it was starting to feel meaningless... I also noticed that I didn't really feel like doing anything but brain-rotting, which was worrying me a little.

Per my last post, I've not felt like writing anything for a long time, which I noticed was correlated with my downloading of XHS onto my phone!! So that was a startling discovery on how social media can really reshape one's consciousness D:

The doctor gave me some time off thankfully! It's already been a week of leave - I can't believe how quickly time passes. I suspect my boss wants me to come back to work sooner rather than later, but as I am still going to take advantage of my hospitalization leave to rest up a bit more at home.

Nevertheless, I am grateful that I have a bit more energy and capacity mentally/emotionally to think about other things...So I am thinking that I might want to see if I can channel my "free" time into doing interesting things... like reviewing what projects I've got on hold, maybe picking some new things up again.

so maybe i will reflect on this over the next day or so and maybe come up with a little project plan. I will try to tamp down my ambitions, haha - maybe i will come up with a quick little crash course to keep me occupied for about 3-5 days... let me report back on this.
